Hi Thomas, I'm one of your original group of beta testers, still using Twistedwave on an almost daily basis and loving how the product has grown.
I've got a couple of ideas that would probably be relatively easy to implement (although I know nothing of coding) but thought I'd share them with you. At the BBC I use a terrible application called Quickedit that's part of the Radioman playout and editing system. Quickedit is pretty nasty but has a couple of very useful features that, if you could implement them could make TwistedWave the killer radio editor for OS X. So here's what I'd find really useful. Let me know what you think. An option for separate In, Out and Play cursors. This would make it much easier to tweak a selection, without the constant risk of loosing the area you have selected. Audio between the in and out is what would be clipped for the clip list. In and out could be selected with the I and O keys. A variety of ways to play around a particular selection: Play Over - This would play from a few seconds before the selected audio, skip the selected audio and then play for a few seconds after allowing judgement as to whether the cut one is about to make is correct and smooth. Play End - This would play the last few seconds of the selected audio Ability to save the clip list as separate files into a folder. I hope the above makes sense. Let me know if you want more information, better explanation etc.
Yes, I remember you, and I am glad you like TwistedWave so much :)
These are very nice suggestions, indeed. They make sense, and I will certainly consider them for a future update. Thanks a lot for suggesting them.
I definitely agree that playback control without canceling the current selection(s) would be a really, really useful feature!
Actually I have my own feature request related to selections.. My apologies if it already exists and I just missed it but it would be useful to be able to move selection(s) forward and back in time. It could work if there was a modifier that allowed you to "grab" the selection and reposition it, without having to reposition both ends separately. Maybe it would be like the way you can both resize and reposition the "zoomed region" in the waveform overview at the top. |
