64 bit version doesn't work - mono instead of stereo

Just downloaded the 64 bit trial version of Twisted Wave.

It looks great and is easy to use!

However, it doesn't work.  Specifically, stereo input from the USB input is recorded on the right channel only.  The left channel shows no wave form.  It gets weirder.  During playback of the just recorded audio, it plays out of the LEFT channel.  That's right, when it records, you only hear it in the right channel, but during playback it only plays on the left channel.

I then downloaded the 32 bit version and it records and plays in stereo fine, no problem.

Both versions are running from the Applications directory.

This is on a new 21.5" iMac, Mac OS 10.6.2.  iMac version "iMac10,1".

On a possibly unrelated note, the app icon shows up in the stack view (from the dock) with a null app icon instead of the actual TwistedWave icon.

I find this for both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Please fix.  This looks like a really promising app!

Maybe I did something to record in one channel only?

After playing with it for a while this might be the case.

I think I clicked somewhere in the window so it only recorded on the channel that I happened to click.

Oh well.  I just verified this so it looks like the 64 bit version is OK.

I stand behind the null icon thing though!  :-)

Hi Mark,

I am glad you like TwistedWave so much. Thanks.

You may have been accidentally selecting a single channel, indeed. You can prevent this by checking the option to lock the channels, from the main menu, Edit/Lock Channels, or from the preferences window.

And concerning the null icon, I have never experienced this. Does the icon also appear empty when you open the Applications folder with the Finder, or is it only in the Dock when TwistedWave is running? Could you try duplicating the application from the finder "File / Duplicate" or Command-D, and see if that solves the problem?

The null icon appears only after clicking on the Applications folder from the dock, whether or not TwistedWAve is running.

In the Finder, the icon appears normally no matter the view selection: multi column, icon, list cover flow, etc.

Could it be because it's a trial version?

I see the same issue with other freshly installed apps, therefore I don't think it's a TwistedWave problem.
I shut down my mac when not in use and I noticed that when powered up again what was previously a "null icon" in the stack was replaced by the correct icon which stayed thereafter.

I'm using 10.6.2

best regards,
Mark

I don't doubt that it's not necessarily a TwistedWave bug.  However, all the other applications I've installed the last couple days do not have this problem.  So maybe it is a setting somewhere.

For example, maybe it is supposed to have the null icon until you click past the warning that it is a file downloaded from the internet.  I click past that warning but the null icon remains.  Is a setting not getting changed?

This idea may be totally unrelated, I'm just guessing.
